PHOTOBOOK MENTOR PROGRAM II
Following the success of our firat mentor program, we are pleased to announce that the Photobook Mentor Program II will take place in Autumn 2016.
Comprising of a series of intensive two-day collaborative workshops, the Photobook Mentor Program II will cover a range of contemporary publishing models, from indie zines through to high quality luxury editions, ranging from traditional photography books to experimental photobooks that push the boundaries of the publishing medium.
The program will be led by Nicholas McLean - Founder/Publisher at Éditions du LIC and Alessandro Calabrese - Photographer/Teacher (Lecturer in Photography and Visual Design at Nuova Accademia di Belle Arti Milan and Accademia Carrara du Bekke Arti Bergamo) with guest mentor, Hannah Watson - Publisher and Curator of TROLLEY BOOKS (Publishing House) and TJ BOULTING (Gallery).
Mentors and guest mentors will work in close collaboration with participants to convert their photo projects into print-ready books. The program will cover the complete book making process from concept through curation, sequencing and layout to final design. Additional lectures will provide essential information about bookmaking materials, printing techniques, bookbinding options, distribution, self-publishing and advice about approaching potential publishers.
